~ Christmas 2005
~

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon
... December 18th ... and over 200 people came to the Southern New Hampshire Rescue Mission
for a hot, full-course turkey dinner. What a JOY! There were
many smiles and several chuckles as many were rubbing their tummy
saying, "I'm STUFFED!"
Not only did everyone have plenty to
eat (and took some "to go" as well), but all were blessed by
the heavenly music of the choir
from
New Life Christian Church in Hudson.

After our guests enjoyed their
relaxing dinner, they made their way to our lower level to receive their
hand-picked Christmas presents.
Since early October, we were handing out paper "stars" to our guests.
On the star they'd place their name and their Christmas wish list.
At our
Thanksgiving Dinner we collected
all the stars, distributed them to many area churches ... and then
folks from those churches went "Christmas Shopping" for one or more of
our guests. We spent a couple of weeks collecting those gifts and
organizing them for our Dinner & Holiday Celebration filled.
Everyone left with a full tummy ... and a Christmas gift JUST for them!
We could have never done this if it
were not for our faithful and hard-working volunteers. Some of the
Churches which were represented at the Dinner were (in alphabetical
order...)

Thank you ... everyone ... for
touching the hearts and lives of hundreds of our community's homeless
and poor with your support of time, talent, and treasure.
"He who gives to the poor will lack nothing."
