Christmas ...
for many it's a difficult time of the year. All too often
behind the joyful glitter of the Christmas season lurks the face of
despair and loneliness.
You can help change that. We
invite you to participate in reaching out to those who are Homeless
and hurting this Christmas by serving at our Christmas Dinner.
Purpose
... This Rescue Mission exists to bring the light of Jesus into the
dark world that so many live in. Jesus, who came to offer light
and hope ... Jesus, who knew loss and pain ... Jesus, who knew how it
felt to be an outcast, who had no place to call Home. He came
into the darkness that surrounds us and brings us the light of his
love and his presence.
Mary and Joseph had reason to feel despair and
loneliness that first Christmas ... they were far from Home, and
because there was no room for them in the inn, their son was born in a
cold, drafty stable.
Hope
... Nothing and no-one is ever hopeless. "God our Savior, the
hope of all the ends of the earth" (Psalm 65:5). Many
who will come to the Mission for our Christmas Dinner will feel like
there is no hope. Our prayer is that many will see, feel, hear,
and receive the hope that's available to them ... Jesus! He's
the reason for the season.
