"Feed the hungry.  Help those in trouble.  Then your light will shine out from the darkness...and the Lord will satisfy you with all good things."  Isaiah 58:10-11

Services We Provide

We've been privileged to conduct a number of services for those who come to us for help ... services that have provided for physical needs, others that have met an emotional needs, and much that has met the needs of the soul.

Hot Meals:  We host many Banquets ... Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter ... where we served close to 200 meals at each event.  View pictures and stories of these gatherings by clicking a link along the lower left hand column of this page.

Worship Services:  Sunday afternoons at 1:30pm, Fridays at 5:00pm and various other times we provide an opportunity for our clients to worship the Lord through live music, receive the Word of God through devotional teaching, and we offer pray with and for them.  This has been welcomed this very much.

Reading Classes:  Fridays at 4:30pm for anyone interested.  We've discovered that many of those we serve either cannot read at all or have great difficulty reading.  Thanks to "Somebody Cares New England" we've gathered a team of tutors who have committed their Friday afternoons to help others learn to read.  Go to our Reading Classes page for further information.

Shelter:  Pending Approval.

Pizza & Movie Nites:  It seems that one of the favorite events among our clients and the neighborhood has been our Pizza and Movie nites.  We open the evening with prayer, some sharing of a Bible oriented story or drama, then dig in to 20+ pizzas from a local vendor and together watch a family oriented movie ... like "Finding Nemo" or "The Santa Claus 2" or "Cheaper by the Dozen" and more.

Haircuts:  Recently we've been blessed to have a couple of local cosmetologists give of their time and talent to cut hair.  At first opening, haircuts were provided for kids going back to school.  Then the word got out pretty quickly, and a few weeks later the same was provided for men and women ... the works ... wash and scizzor cut!  We wish we could adequately tell you the expressions of joy and pride that over 40 clients had when they left with a first rate haircut!
Fellowship:  Probably the most amazing thing we've seen thus far is the hunger amongst our clients for genuine fellowship ... the kind that lingers.  Every time we open the doors and people come to obtain whatever we're offering, they love to sit and talk, listen, laugh, share, and just interact with us and our volunteers from the community.
Bibles Distributed:  Since we began distributing Bibles on Thanksgiving of 2003, we've given away more than 20 cases of Bibles to those men, women and children that have asked for one.
Socials:  To enhance a sense of community, we've hosted events like a Valentine's Social.  We provided refreshments (drinks and desserts) to almost 50 people as they witnessed the loving story of God through mime, drama, music and a message.  Afterwards, they'd linger "forever" just to talk and share with one another.

Clothing and Household Supplies:  It's been awesome how the community has given so much so we can give to those in need.  It's been such a blessing to give someone new shoes, a needed jacket, diapers for a baby, a stroller to a single mom, kitchen supplies, lots of clothing, a bed, bassinette, lamp, blankets, a chair and so much more.

Food Boxes:  Many have come to us seeking help with food.  Thanks to many local churches, we've had "just enough" to go around for those who asked.  No-one has had to be turned away.
